The Most Versatile Home Organizing Products On The Market

Updated: Apr 3

Want to make your life a bit easier?

One surefire way to do that is by organizing your stuff. You'll be surprised at how much tidying up and cleaning you can avoid by simply getting rid of things you no longer need. But don't worry, you don't have to become a full-on minimalist — I promise.

Just focus on letting go of the stuff that's no longer serving you and is just taking up space. Once you've decluttered, be sure to keep everything in its place. Setting boundaries and arranging your belongings will help you maintain this newfound organization.

Not All Organizing Products Are The Same

When it comes to organizing your belongings, various stores such as Target, Home Goods, The Container Store, West Elm, Amazon, and even Dollar Tree offer an extensive range of appealing organizing products. However, choosing the right one can be challenging as not all organizing products are equally effective.

I'm happy to provide you with some helpful tips that can save you time and money by recommending my top six organizing products. These versatile products can be used to categorize, sort, and maintain your organization systems for various items within your home. What's great about these products is that they can adapt to your changing needs, so you won't have to worry about investing in something you won't use in the future.

By adding a lazy susan to your storage solutions, you can conveniently access frequently used items such as oils, vinegar, salt, pepper, and other commonly used condiments, as well as those stored in the depths of the linen closet or under the bathroom sink. Lazy susans also come in handy for storing art supplies such as paints and slime ingredients.

The Tiblue lazy susan is a top-of-the-line option thanks to its durable construction. You can load it up without compromising on its spinning capabilities. And because of the height of its sides, smaller items remain stable and upright as you rotate the lazy susan.

SpaceAid's bamboo drawer dividers are a must-have for better organization. These dividers are ideal for creating boundaries within your drawers, ensuring that everything has a designated space and nothing is left to float around.

In the kitchen, you can use them to organize kitchen towels, pot holders, utensils, spices, and other miscellaneous items that are prone to getting lost. In the bathroom, they are perfect for separating brushes, curling irons, hair accessories, or cosmetics. They work wonders in dressers, creating separate compartments for clothing items such as socks, undergarments, pajamas, or workout attire.

If you want to maximize your storage capacity, consider utilizing your vertical space by installing The Over The Door Rack from The Container Store. This product is an excellent choice for your linen closet, pantry, bathroom, laundry room, or entryway.

It is made of epoxy-bonded steel construction, which ensures its durability. It's highly customizable, allowing you to add baskets, shoe racks, wrapping paper holders, and pegboards with bins, containers, and hooks. This versatility makes it easy to adjust and adapt to your needs.

I love these bins! While IKEA offers a similar option that is marginally more durable, they only offer two sizes. In contrast, The Container Store provides four options - extra small, small, medium, and large. In this post, I give a complete comparison of the two bin types here on Instagram.

I prefer using these bins in pantries to keep like-items together. Moreover, the containers give a consistent and tidy appearance. Additionally, these bins are excellent for storing cleaning supplies under the sink, organizing smaller items in the garage (like bungee cords and extension cords), or using them in a playroom for toy cars, building blocks, art supplies, or Barbie accessories.

I have utilized some of my Container Store and IKEA bins for over a decade, which shows that they are a successful long-term organizing solution.

Looking for a long-term solution to keep your shelves organized? Consider CY Acrylic Shelf Dividers from Amazon. These dividers are perfect for creating boundaries on your shelves vertically. The quality of the acrylic is high, providing sturdiness without being cumbersome, and they won't damage your shelves.

Utilize shelf dividers in your linen closet to keep sheets, towels, and blankets organized. They also work well on clothing closet shelves to keep jeans, sweaters, and sweatshirts in their designated areas. If you prefer not to use bins in your pantry, shelf dividers can be used to create clearly defined sections for different types of food goods, such as snacks in one area.

It's important to keep in mind that not all storage bins are created equal. In fact, certain types work better than others when it comes to storing specific items. Personally, I prefer hyacinth baskets because they're woven over a metal frame, which means they'll maintain their shape no matter what you store inside (even heavier items like toys).

Another great thing about hyacinth baskets is that their sides and bottom are at a 90-degree angle, which ensures that there's no wasted space. This makes it easy to stack items neatly and efficiently. Whether you're using them in a bathroom, closet, pantry, or on open shelving, hyacinth baskets can add warmth and texture to your space, elevating the overall aesthetic of the room.
